General Office Clerk/Accounting

o Answer telephones and relay messages to appropriate recipients
o Manage files/folders and compile records
o Manage financial records and light bookkeeping activities
o Greet customers and visitors and perform tier-one / first contact services
o Manage inventory of office supplies and assist in organizing office activities
o Prepare coffee and snacks for office staff
o Scan incoming mail for recipient information
o Handle outgoing mails by sealing envelopes and placing stamps
o Retrieve files on demand
o Manage travel and accommodation arrangements for staff
o Assist in preparing payrolls
o Mail bills and pay utility bills
o Proofread records and reports for accuracy
o Type and edit correspondence
o Prepare carrier packages for UPS and Federal Express
o Perform document photocopying and paperwork distribution tasks
o Act as a receptionist or front desk officer when required
o Transport materials and supplied between departments
o Ensure management of minor repairs of the office
o Assist in managing accurate billing and petty cash
o Create and maintain meaningful liaison with vendors and suppliers
o Run errands for office staff
o Maintain office equipment such as copiers and printers

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
