Hooker Furnishings also operates multiple showrooms in High Point, NC, Atlanta, GA, and Las Vegas NV, and administrative offices in Vietnam and China.
The Position:
The Collections Specialist is a member of a team located in our High Point, NC or Martinsville, VA office.

The Collections Specialist will be an integral part of the Credit Team and will perform credit.

Responsibilities:
Monitor the company's accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts.
Contact customers with overdue accounts by outbound phone and email and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments.
Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers as well as records of any payments collected from the customer.
Resolve customer issues and complaints concerning billing.
Submit regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts and any repayment progress.
Process payments by credit card or emailed/faxed checks (Chax) where applicable.
Compose emails to or talk with dealers and sales reps regarding any credit aspects of the dealer's account.
Obtain copies of invoices and proof of delivery for dealers and sales reps as necessary.
Type warning notices and process all necessary paperwork to place delinquent accounts.

Send statements and credit letters to past due accounts as necessary.
Research and resolve long-standing or complicated credit problems and inform all.

Candidates that would be a great fit will have:

High school diploma.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
(including Excel) Previous experience in customer service and/or credit role.
Experience with D365.
(a plus, not required) Team player with a positive attitude.
Willing to be cross trained in other areas/duties of the department.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to negotiate effectively.
