Provide support to the lenders, enabling them to focus on business relationship development and credit underwriting.
Major Duties and Responsibilities Answer phones call when the Mortgage Loan Officers are not available and answering some general questions for members regarding Mortgage 1st, 2nd and Heloc products.
Review and determine if any initial required application documents are missing and if so reaching out the Mortgage Loan Officer and member to obtain within 24 hours of the fully signed application.
(Job-aide will be developed) and then forward the file to the processor.
Review, calculate, and analyze Paystubs, W2's, 1040's, bank statements, pulling bank statements for the member for all ValleyStar Accounts, verifying the W2's match the employers listed on the application if not update application.
Verify that all documents in the file are fully executed by all parties.
Forward file to internal processor.
Secondary loans - complete the above and forward to the secondary vendor for processing, underwriting and closing.
Be the primary point of contact to between VSCU member and Secondary Processing Underwriting and closing teams.
Represent the credit union with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Provide limited sales and service support to Mortgage Loan Officers.
Work with Mortgage Loan officer to maintain loan tracking system.
Adhere to the credit unions policies.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the office of Foreign Assets Control.
Complies with the federal Fair Lending laws, including but not limited to, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Regulations C), and Fair Housing Act.
Complies with all other applicable State and Federal laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures related to the position, department and the credit union industry.
Exhibit a professional, business-like appearance and demeanor.
Knowledge and Skills Experience Knowledge of how to review and understand credit reports and bank statements is required.
This role requires understanding of lending regulations, sales and service experience and ability to do detailed administrative work.
To be successful, this person must be a strong communicator and skilled at multi-tasking.
Two years of prior mortgage experience is desired.
Education/ Certifications / Licenses Post high school education such as specialized course of study at a business or trade school is preferred.
Other Skills This position requires the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
The ability to write simple correspondence is required.
This position requires the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members, potential members and other employees of the organization.
The ability to compute rate, ratio and percentage is also required.
Basic skills in Windows-based software programs including Word and Excel are required.

There may be occasions when the work environment is stressful.
Work hours will normally be from Monday through Friday and may change depending upon our needs.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
